BIOGRAPHY OF GINO CAPUTI Born and raised in San Francisco, (with a ten year stay in Vale, Oregon) Gino Caputi pursued acting for several years, then did an office internship for Josh and Jake Kornbluth’s independent comedy film Haiku Tunnel and ended up as a 2nd Assistant. Director. At that point, a career in film was born and some of Gino’s films as a 2nd Assistant Director include Teknolust, Dopamine, Dead and Breakfast, Illusion, The Zodiac, The Californians and The Mistress of Spices. Four and a half years later, working in film and television in that capacity, Gino felt ready to take the reins as a director. Gentle Lovers marked Gino’s first semi-professional short film, made with the help of some of the best talent in the San Francisco film community. In 2005, Gino joined the Director’s Guild of America as an Assistant Director and worked on such films as Simon Says, The Valley of The Heart’s Delight, War of The Worlds and The Pursuit of Happyness. In 2006, Gentle Lovers won the Gold Medal for Excellence at the Park City Film Music Festival for composer superb musical score. Since that smashing triumph, Gino co-wrote and co-edited his wife’s film DCBA, which will premiere at the Luna Fest in San Francisco on March 1st and 2nd, 2007. Gino has also written several feature length screenplays, both on his own and in collaboration with Gino continues to hone his writing, directing and editing work, completing web videos for Turnhere.com, among others. Gino’s educational background consists of a Bachelors degree in Theater Arts from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon, and film course work at City College of San Francisco.
